System Requirements
Macintosh
FireWire 800 requires Mac OS X 10.2.8 or higher
and FireWire 800 (9-pin) equipped computer
Apple G4 processor or greater
Mac OS 9.1 or later (FW 800 not supported);
OS X (10.1.2-10.1.5; 10.2.4 or later)
OS 9: 64MB RAM or more as required by
operating system
OS X: 128MB RAM or more as required by
operating system
CD-ROM drive
Internet connection (for system updates)
Mac OS 9 is compatible only with the FireWire 400 inferface.
Retrospect Express does not work with the Server edition of
the Mac OS.
USB 1.1 is slower than USB 2 or FireWire.

he ‘A’ connector, typically, plugs into your computer
and the ‘B’ connector plugs into your drive.
If your computer has a different type of USB
connection, you can purchase the correct type
of cable from your local computer store.

Though this model has both USB and FireWire interfaces, it is only
possible to use one interface at a time.

6-pin to 6-pin FireWire 400
(1394a) cable
Many laptop computers, have a smaller 4-pin FireWire port requiring a special
4-pin to 6-pin FireWire cable. This is not included, but can be purchased from
your local computer store.
